The Monthly Mentor is an easy to skim bullet point list of things I enjoyed this month, usually a personal update and something to: read, watch, and buy.

This is the Monthly(ish) Mentor of .
[ Personal ] - short term battery full, long term battery drained. Our house is still being renovated and I’m reminded that I’m the kind of person that needs to feel tethered to a home to feel grounded.
[ Read ] Taste for Makers - a 2002 Paul Graham post about how perception of beauty and taste is something that will become more and more important. In the AI age, this will only increase I suspect. (link)
[ Watch 25:26 ] Why Google Maps fails in Amsterdam - an interesting breakdown of traffic pattern planning and how this makes Google Maps act badly in Amsterdam (link)
[ Buy ] Switchbot CO2 mater (portable) - the cheapest yet high quality CO2 meter I found that works both at home and on the go. I hope to bring this around so I can gauge the ventilation in spaces I’m in which influences for example how well I’ll be able to focus and the likelyhood someone in the room might infect me with an inconvenient virus or something (link)
Enjoy your week friends!
